Todoist

Tasks from the wild

Forward Todoist's daily digest so Instinct sees the same open loops you track. TickTick works via reminders or BCC, not a strong native digest.

Recommended: Todoist Daily digest · forward ~2 min setup

Outcome

Instinct can answer "What's on my plate today?" or "Did I already capture that follow-up?" using the same commitments you track in Todoist or TickTick. Wild tasks that arrive as email: vendor asks, personal reminders: can land in Instinct in the same motion you file them in your task manager.

What gets sent

  • Todoist Daily digest: today's tasks + light productivity stats
  • Todoist email reminders for due-timed tasks (if enabled)
  • TickTick email reminders for individual tasks (TickTick has no strong native daily email digest)
  • Optional: copies of emails you used to create tasks ("email to Todoist/TickTick")

How to send

Goal: one email lands in your bot today.

Copy your bot address from Instinct → Settings.

On Instinct: Copy your bot address from Settings

Todoist → Settings → Notifications.

On Todoist: Open Settings, then Notifications

Enable the Daily digest email list.

On Todoist: Enable Daily digest email

Under reminders: Settings → Reminders → enable remind-via Email for tasks with due times (as desired).

On Todoist: Optionally enable email reminders

In your inbox, filter From: Todoist / subject patterns for digest & reminders → forward to your bot address.

On Inbox: Forward Todoist digest to your bot

Send today's digest once manually if you don't want to wait until morning.

On Inbox: Optionally forward today's digest once
To: {todoist-or-ticktick-capture@…} Bcc: {your Instinct bot address} Subject: "Follow up: invoice from {Vendor}" Context: Due Friday. Include PO 1842.
Other ways · BCC Instinct on email-to-task

Todoist and TickTick both accept creating tasks by email; BCC Instinct so the assistant sees the same capture.

Todoist: open a project → menu → Email tasks to this project → copy the project address.

TickTick: Settings → Integrations & Import → Add tasks via email → copy your capture address.

When a wild ask arrives, Forward/BCC: To = Todoist or TickTick capture; Bcc = your bot address.

Subject = task title; body = context.

Other ways · TickTick (~10 min: no native digest)

TickTick has no strong native daily email digest: treat a DIY digest as ~10 min versus Todoist's ~2 min forward.

Enable email reminders for key tasks, forward those to Instinct, or

Once a day, email yourself a plain "Today" list and BCC your bot address, or

Use IFTTT/Zapier Email Digest if you already sync TickTick elsewhere.

Tips & gotchas

  • Instinct is not a replacement task database here: it's contextual memory. Keep Todoist/TickTick as source of truth for completion state.
  • Forwarding every reminder can be noisy; start with the morning digest only.
  • Never auto-forward password resets or 2FA codes that happen to sit in the same inbox rules.

Paste the address from Instinct → Settings. Don't email the placeholder.
